Amid media speculation that BJP is wooing the Telugu Desam and other parties, Andhra Pradesh BJP president Bandaru Dattatreya on Wednesday expressed hope that TDP and Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam would extend support for formation of NDA government at the Centre.
"The TRS decision has given new strength to the NDA. TDP and Praja Rajyam are pondering over the issue now. I feel it depends on the Left on whom they will support," Dattatreya said in New Delhi.
Dattatreya was in Delhi to meet top BJP leaders to discuss the party's position vis-a-vis elections. Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said here yesterday that his party would initiate talks with other parties on the evening of Saturday next when election results would be announced.
"As far as we are concerned, we will talk to other parties only on 16th evening. I am not suggesting or naming any party or the leader," he said.
However, Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu, a key partner in the Third Front, maintained that the coalition would come to power at the Centre after the elections.
On the other hand, Praja Rajyam founder Chiranjeevi has made it clear several times that his party is not inclined to do business with the BJP as it wanted to remain committed to secular values.
