Chief Electoral Officer I. V. Subba Rao on Tuesday evening submitted to Governor N.D. Tiwari the gazette notification issued by the Election Commission containing the list of newly-elected MLAs from 294 constituencies, enabling him to know the number of seats won by different parties. The list formed the basis for the Governor’s decision to invite the eligible party to form the next government.
The CEO also despatched copies of the gazette to the Legislature Secretary and to the Chief Secretary of the State so that they could facilitate oath-taking by new MLAs and make arrangements before and after the formation of new government.
