Rayapati in race for cabinet berth
Guntur MP-elect and Congress strong man Rayapati Sambasiva Rao is most likely the CM’s recommendation for a ministerial berth at the center. This appointment is likely to happen at the expense of either Lagadapati Rajagopal or Kavuri Samabasiva Rao or both. Lagadapati in the months before the election tried charting an independent path of his own and this annoyed the CM no end. Kavuri Samabasiva Rao on the other hand with his business network is likely to emerge as an independent source of power and this is something that the CM might not cherish. Rayapati too had his differences with the CM , but he sorted them out in time and has therefore emerged as the CM’s preferred candidate for the ministerial berth. Another name that the CM will most definitely scuttle is that of the Nizamabad MP, Madhu Yashki Goud. Madhu Yashki Goud it is said has direct access to Rahul Gandhi and is reportedly trying to create a few opportunities of his own.
