Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi has announced a slew of sops like land to the poor, free power, insurance and pension scheme for farmers, insurance and interest-free loans for women self-help groups and an unemployment allowance and 10 lakh jobs in the first 1,000 days.
The manifesto released on Monday had no radical changes from the original draft. With a focus on improving the lot of rural poor, he claimed that he would usher in change by good governance and root out corruption. The goal is to achieve ‘Gram Swaraj’, he said, adding that an Ombudsman would be put in place to help improve governance.
