Satyam scales back operations in City
Not too long ago Hyderabad was Satyam's forte. The scam-tainted software Company had 14 offices in Hyderabad and Secunderabd. By the end of June this year at least 6 of those 14 offices will be shut down. In ths hit list are offices in Somajiguda (popularly known as TSR and LST buildings), Kharkhana, and Secunderabad (Ohri Towers). The operations in Jubilee hills have already been suspended and that office space has now been occupied by a corporate college. Also on the pruning list is the prestigious city center in Begumpet. This however has not been confirmed. Most of the employees working in these offices will be relocated to offices in Madhapur or Bahdurpally. There is also a possibility that a good 30% of them will be asked to leave. Tech M is expected to retrench a minimum of 7000 employees in Satyam by the end of Q2 this year.
