Though the global recession has hit the IT/ITeS sectors hard, Hyderabad is still ahead of other metros in hiring professionals in fields like pharma, biotech, banking and financial services.
The april results of a survey by an online recruitment agency has revealed that Hyderabad has surged ahead of other metros in head-hunting. But, there is an overall drop of 4.7 per cent in new recruitments in the private sector across the country when compared to March.
Of the top 13 cities in the country, 11 recorded a fall in the hiring activity. Ahmedabad saw a steep fall of 11 per cent while most other cities saw a drop of about five to six per cent.
The survey disclosed that hiring activity for ITeS and BPO professionals was down by 22 per cent across the country.
