Chiru heads for Tirupati to thank voters

After the drubbing his party received at the hustings, Prajarajyam chief Chiranjeevi is heading to Tirupati on a ‘thanksgiving’ trip. The PRP supremo, who won the Tirupati assembly seat, would be staying in the temple town for two days. He would also conduct a roadshow in the constituency. Though the party sources refused to divulge whether Chiranjeevi would be visiting Tirupati every month to meet his voters, the district PRP leaders however have readied a two-storeyed building at Padmavathipuram in Tiruchanoor, which would function as party camp office, for the supremo whenever he lands in Tirupati.

“Our chief will inaugurate the party office on Thursday evening and later hold discussions with district leaders on the reasons that led to the party’s debacle in Chittoor district. He will also conduct a roadshow in the town on Friday,” said a paty leader. The building, belonging to district PRP convenor Jangalapalle Srinivasulu, is located in the same colony where the defeated Congress candidate B Karunakar Reddy resides.

“Though Chiranjeevi wasn’t particular about Lord’s sentiment or ‘vasthu’, we made certain changes and renovations in the building as per ‘vasthu’ as we want to remove all celestial obstacles before the party,” a district leader said. It may be recalled Chiranjeevi had taken a palatial house on rent in Khadi Colony when he campaigned in the last polls.
