KCR angles for a PRP-TRS coalition with the Congress

TDP’s dilly-dallying with the BJP is going to prove costly for the Chandrababu-led Kutami. KCR is increasingly tilting towards the notion that only a Congress or BJP government at the center can give some meaningful traction towards the Telengana issue. The TRS also is very sceptical about Babu’s alliance with the left parties and feels that, despite Chandrababu’s assurances that Telengana has been included in the party manifesto, the TDP will not get the support of the Kutami on the issue of statehood for Telengana. BJP’s promise of Telengana within 100 days and the Congress’s willingness to support the cause at the center in case it falls short of the magic number (here in the state) is pushing KCR to supporting either of the parties in the Center. All this though will depend on the final tally that emerges on 16th May and its aftermath. In the event of the TDP falling short of a simple majority or the Congress falling short of a 100 (both of which are likely), the TRS along with the PRP will hold the aces at the negotiations table.
