In January 2008 CM Rajashekar Reddy signed an MoU for Odyssey Science City Project. An year after that we are now being told that it has been shelved. Its MoU has been canceled. As envisioned earlier this project promised to turn the barren 65 thousands acres of Rayalaseema in to Green Belt with the desalinated sea water. Power Point presentation on Odyssey at Taj Krishna last year left the officials dumbstruck with the scope and reach of the project. There was a strong hope for the locals too that famine would leave them at last. But their dreams don't seem to have lasted for long. Ananthapur population is reportedly shocked with the sudden termination of the project. Blame game continues till today that the Investors have backed out, controversies are too many says the government. Dreams ran dry for the poor, but all those real estate people who made 'hay while sun shone' obviously made the best out of worst
