Junior NTR has succeeded in getting the Telugu Desam tickets for the next round of elections to his two friends from Krishna district. In fact, Jr. NTR has been insisting only on accommodating his friends and it was for this reason, he has been keeping himself away from the party activities unlike the other Nandamuri heroes.
Jr. NTR wanted the TD to renominate, sitting MLA, Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani) from Gudivada Assembly seat and give ticket to Dr Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan (Vamsi) at Gannavaram. While Naidu had cleared Nani’s candidature for the second term from Gudivada, it was uncertain for Vamsi at Gannavaram. There was heavy pressure on the Nandamuri heroes and industrialist Dasari Jairamesh to nominate Dr D V Balavardhana Rao from here. Balavardhana Rao had lost to the Congress in the last elections.
According to the speculative list that was carried by the vernacular media, the TD had confirmed the tickets for both Nani and Vamsi from Gudivada and Gannavaram respectively. This had finally confirmed the upper hand of Jr. NTR in the party and the clout that he enjoys with Chandrababu Naidu than the other Nandamuri heroes.
It is now to be seen how the other Nandamuri heroes, particularly Harikrishna, would react if their candidate Dr Balavardhana Rao, is dropped to field Jr. NTR’s candidate Dr Vamsi from Gannavaram.
