CM proposes a 25-member cabinet in 1st phase
CM Dr YSR Reddy has sought and got Delhi’s approval for a 25-member cabinet for the 1st phase. He refused to reveal the names, but it is very much likely that the usual suspects will make the cut this time too. Ponnala Laxmayyah, Botsa Satyanarayana (Vizianagaram), Jana Reddy, Manikya Vara Prasad (Guntur), and Sailajanath (Anantapur)are among the hot favourites. There will at least be 8 BC candidates and 1 Muslim candidate in the list. The CM made it clear that first time MLAs will not be considered. Possible exceptions are the likes of Usha Rani the giant killer from Palacole. The CM has reportedly said there is a second list and that all deserving candidates will be accommodated. Meanwhile the fate of Rosaiah hangs in balance. The CM is keen on having him in the Finance role, but it remains to be seen how this will be accomplished. J C Diwakar Reddy and Raghuveera Reddy are likely to be accommodated in the second phase. The speaker’s post too is generating a lot of interest and the opposition parties are watching who will be the nominee this time. They apparently are happy that Suresh Reddy will not be at the helm of affairs this time.
