Andhra Pradesh bags Rs 1,000cr lab deal

The state clinched a big investment deal with Alexandria, the largest lab space provider. The US-based firm would invest about Rs 1,000 crore in a phased manner in the state. The AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation MD, Mr B.P. Acharya handed over the letter of allotment of land to Alexandria at Genome Valley.

Alexandria will create a plug-and-play lab space to cater to global and local pharmaceutical companies. Mr Acharya added that the pharma and life sciences company, IMAC, has also announced its plans to invest $100 million in the livestock park and SEZ at Pulivendula.

Biotech Industry Organisation, USA, announced that it would hold an partnering event Bio India on September 21 and 22, 2010, in Hyderabad.
