Chandrababu elected TDLP leader

The Telugu Desam Legislature Party (TDLP) has decided to play the role of a watchdog in the Assembly. The party, which has emerged as the major opposition with 92 MLAs and 14 allies, has decided to play the role of a constructive opposition, and as a first step, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu called up chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and congratulated him on becoming the chief minister once again.

The TDLP, which met here on Thursday, re-elected Chandrababu Naidu its leader. Party senior leaders P Ashok Gajapati Raju and N Janardhan Reddy will be deputy leaders in the Assembly.
