The moment of truth for KCR is just around the corner. In less than a week, he will be sitting at the Martyr’s memorial in Siddipet and begin his fast-until-death programme to achieve a separate Telengana. Potti Sreeramulu had done a similar fasting back in 1952 which resulted in the creation of Andhra Pradesh. Leaving aside whether KCR can achieve what Potti Sreeramulu had, every step he’s taking these days shows his short-sightedness. He’s reportedly meeting his close relatives, friends and partymen to discuss the strategy for this ‘fasting’ and ensure that it goes on without any problem. Already the Congress government seems to be gearing up to face this issue in their own way. Some landowners who were supporting the ‘Fast’ had allegedly dug up borewells without permission and they have been slapped notices. Looking at the way the Government is reacting on this issue, it looks like they are doing everything they can under the wraps to discourage KCR. The best strategy which KCR can adopt now is to put up an honest effort to show his credibility over ‘Telengana’ issue. We will have to wait and see how KCR puts his words into action.
