Even by conservative estimates, there are over 100 rebels in fray within the PRP itself. Chiranjeevi and Allu Arvind despite their best efforts were not able to convince the rebels to support the candidates who were given tickets. The TDP too is racked by rebels from the within. This is more so in the tightly contested constituencies in coastal Andhra. Even in Telengana region, TDP candidates have refused to withdraw their nominations in the seats given to TRS in the seat sharing arrangement. The TDP and the TRS are contesting the LS seat in Warangal. The rebels are also contesting for assembly seats in Secunderabad, Peddapally, Patancheru, Sangareddy, Sathupally, Makthala nd Siriciall. An insider in the TDP remarked that unless there is a strong anti-incumbency wave it is very likely that this infighting will spoil the chances for the Maha Kutami.
