Daggubati Purandareswari has her doubts about winning in Visakhapatnam. She broached the topic with Veerappa Moily in Delhi and sought assurances from him for retaining the Ongole seat. Moily could do nothing more than patiently hear her out. She has now put the case forward to Madam Gandhi and is praying that she will get Ongole. She is reported to have told Moily that the CM could have allotted her Ongole, he instead chose to give her Visakhapatnam. She said her deep grass root connections in Ongole district would have made it easier for her to win there as opposed to Visakhapatnam, where she is certain that she will be in the thick of a triangular fight between the TDP and the PRP. She is reportedly more worried about the influence that the PRP wields in the constituency. Also the resounding success of NTR’s tour has created an element of uncertainty in a lot of constituencies in North coastal Andhra.
