The CPI and CPM’s defiant “No Telengana” stand is causing a huge credibility crisis the rank and file of the TRS party. The CPI (M) and CPI are both insisting that their sole purpose of joining the Grand Alliance is only to defeat the Congress. To the left parties, Telengana is not even a poll issue to be considered. This indifferent attitude is causing huge embarrassment to the TRS leaders. Senior TRS leaders, furious over the indifference have called on the left leaders and asked them to issue statements favoring Telengana. But the left parties are in no mood to oblige. In fact Mr B V Raghavulu has said that “it is not the first time that we joined hands with the TRS. Even in the 2004 polls the TRS was a partner in the alliance led by the Congress. There would not be any problem for the Grand alliance if there is no joint agenda.” KCR meanwhile has scheduled a meeting with Chandrababu Naidu to get some traction from the alliance partners.
