With job opportunities in private sector virtually drying up due to current economic slowdown, the Andhra Pradesh government has initiated steps to create new posts in state government institutions and for filling up of existing vacancies.
The state Cabinet has sanctioned 126 posts of Assistant Professors in eight new universities opened recently. In the engineering wing of Panchayat Raj Department, 600 new posts of Section Officers and Assistant Engineers have been sanctioned, Information Minister Aanam Ramanarayana Reddy said.
In the government-run polytechnics, 692 different cadre posts, including that of 32 principals, have been created, he said.
With the government deciding to open 38 new Industrial Training Institutes, 113 posts of office sub-ordinates and 74 assistants have been created, Reddy said, adding 76 posts in the institutes will be outsourced and recruitment process for the jobs will start soon.
