A delegation of Nava Telangana Party (NTP) led by its president T. Devender Goud will visit New Delhi on Wednesday and Thursday to meet Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, L.K. Advani, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) convener Sharad Yadav and other NDA constituents, in a bid to enlist support for a private member’s bill for separate Telangana. At a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Goud recalled Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s statement on Telangana and urged people to vote out of power a party that did not believe in a separate State and was only misleading them time and again. Mr. Goud said the delegation would meet many leaders of the NDA in an endeavour to ensure that separate Telangana was included in the NDA’s manifesto for the elections.
Asked if this meant that NTP was going to work together with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the elections, senior party leader E. Peddi Reddy said the trip to New Delhi and the meeting with Mr. Advani was only confined to working for fructifying their dream of a separate Telangana.
