Leaving behind the defeat it tasted in the just concluded assembly and Lok Sabha polls, TDP is now gearing up for the GHMC elections which would be held soon and is back in election mode.
Party president N Chandrababu Naidu convened a meeting of party leaders and workers from 150 divisions and 12 municipalities on Sunday and reviewed the voting pattern in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections and discussed with them the reasons for the party's poor performance. He also sought their opinion on the strategy the party needs to adopt in the GHMC polls.
TDP demanded direct elections for GHMC so that it would help the state to get more funds from the Centre.
