The PRP cadre in Nellore district are an upbeat lot. They feel they have a very realistic chance of winning in at least 5 seats in the district. Their gains are most likely to come at the expense of both the TDP and the Congress. One of their wins is most likely in Nellore urban and for once this is also welcomed by most people in the town as they feel that they now have a chance to address some key development issues that have been neglected by successive TDP and Congress governments. In the recently concluded municipal meeting the representatives of both Congress and TDP were heckled by the public who made comments stating that “inka meeru intiki vellae time ayyindhi.” Minister for tourism Ram Narayan Reddy however dismissed reports that the Congress has fared poorly and said that it will emerge as the single largest party in both Nellore and in the state.
