The time has now come for Chandrababu to bury the ghosts of Telengana and take a decisive stand on the issue. If the voting trends for the party are any indication, it is clear that the electorate in Andhra did not forgive the TDP for switching sides on the Telengana issue. And to make matters worse, TDP’s pro-telengana tune did not find any takers in the Telengana region itself. The party’s dismal performance in urban Telengana came as a shock to both the TDP and the TRS. Predictably the Andhra leaders have made their displeasure in a clear and vocal manner. They feel that the TDP should go back t its roots of a unified stand. The Telengana leaders on the other hand are (still) pressurizing Chandrababu that he should not deviate from the T stand. For now, Chandrababu is keeping silent on the issue, but sources close to the party are saying he will share his thoughts during the Mahaanadu meeting on the 28th of this month.
