The first phase of polling is over. With half the state going to polls in the first phase, the question uppermost in everyone’s minds is how many seats the PRP will get. The congress and the TDP are confident of bagging a majority of the seats contested and both the parties are confident of bagging 100 to 110 assembly seats and 15 to 18 Lok Sabha seats in the first round.
However despite talk of Social Justice and Change, the PRP seems to be way behind in the race. Analysts say that the party has not done too well despite Chiranjeevi’s charisma and the huge turnout at the road shows and meetings may not have been converted into votes.
Some reports say that the PRP may at best get 10 to 15 assembly seats and 2 to 3 Lok Sabha seats in the first round. But the Yuva Rajyam chief Pawan Kalyan claimed that the PRP is set to win 70 assembly and 15 Lok Sabha seats.
