Telugu Desam Party under the leadership of Nara Chandrababu Naidu is surging ahead in the State and will form the next government, predicted Nandamuri Balakrishna at the end of his three-day tour of Guntur district on Friday.
Addressing a press conference here, he predicted that the party along with its alliance partners would get at least 180 seats and this confidence comes from the fact that the alliance fared very well in the 154 constituencies in the first phase, he added.
Mr. Balakrishna, pleading people to vote for the Grand Alliance nominees in Guntur, said that the innovative welfare programmes announced by party would attract the people. The Guntur West candidate Chukkapalli Ramesh said that Mr. Naidu had consulted several RBI economists and other experts before finalising the scheme to ensure its feasibility.
The police resorted to lathicharge late last night near Arundelpet police station when the TDP workers and supporters of the cine star blocked the entire road.
