The stage is being set for the formal launch of the Congress party’s campaign for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi will kick-start the campaign by addressing a couple of public meetings on February 26. She will arrive at Vijayawada on February 26 morning and interact with self-help groups about ‘Abhaya Hastham,’ the contributory pension scheme, launched by the State government recently.
This will be followed by a public meeting at Mahbubabad in Warangal district, expected to be attended predominantly by tribals from neighbouring Khammam, Karimnagar and other districts. Ms. Gandhi will address another public meeting in the State capital in the afternoon before leaving for New Delhi in the evening..
