Following a spate of requests from cinema theatre owners in the country, the Indian Premier League has decided to float tenders to sell these rights for the 2009 IPL season commencing on April 10.
"We have received requests from many chains of cinema theatres. We have decided to issue tenders for selling these rights for one year or so. We will decide on continuing this after seeing how it goes on," said IPL chairman Lalit Modi today.
The IPL matches last for around three hours and seemingly ideally suited for theatre goers.
