YSR asks Australia to curb attacks on Indian students
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy yesterday urged Australian authorities to prevent attacks on Indian students in that country. In a letter to Australian High Commissioner to India John McCarthy, the Chief Minister expressed concern over recent attacks on Indian students residing in Australia, many of them hailing from Andhra Pradesh. ''Australia is known as a peace-loving country. I am sure, with fervent efforts of the Australian Government, these incidents would remain thing of the past. I shall be grateful if you take up the matter with the authorities concerned'', he said in the letter, copy of which was released to the press here.
