The TDP does not seem to be healing well from its electoral drubbing. The sourness of the wounds still seem to persist in the minds of its leaders. Ashok Gajapathy Raju’s boorish behavior towards the speaker was an ugly sight that will be remembered long after it happened. He raised the caste bogey and said that the Congress was deliberately hoisting Kiran Kumar Reddy in the chair. The CM then had to intervene and ask why the TDP had not proposed a leader if it did not approve the choice of Kiran Kumar Reddy. A guilt-ridden stony silence was the answer. Chandrababu Naidu then carried it a step further by not participating in the traditional welcome of the speaker. His partners in this pettiness were leaders from the TRS, the CPI and the CPM. Even first timers like Chiranjeevi (PRP) and JP (Lok Satta) participated in the welcoming of the speaker.
