Controversial Telengana leader from the TDP, Talasani Yadav has once again let the cat loose among the pigeons. Speaking to a private regional channel late last evening, Talsani said that the TDP should not stray from Samaikhya Vadam. If it was not able to do so, the Secunderabad strong man suggested that the party should press ahead with the concept of giving Hyderabad the status of a union territory. In other words, those who crave for a separate Telengana can have it minus the state capital Hyderabad. Sources close to Yadav are saying that their leader had no other route left to consolidate the voter base in his citadel – Secunderabad. They point out that Secunderabad has a major and decisive vote bank of settlers and ex- army personnel, who are also in favor of a single state. The source added that “going to them on the platform of a separate statehood and asking for votes is certainly a recipe for disaster. Our leader will never make the mistake that was committed in April polls” But in all fairness it must be admitted that Talasani was in favor of a single state right from the beginning of his political career.
