TDP leaders quit after debacle

The Telugu Desam Hyderabad city president, Mr K. Vijayarama Rao, resigned from his post owing moral responsibility for the defeat of the party in Hyderabad. The TDP lost all the seats in the twin cities while the Congress had won seven seats, the MIM got seven and the BJP won one out of the total 15 seats. In a letter to the party president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, Mr Vijayarama Rao said he owed moral responsibility for the defeat and requested him to relieve him of the post. Similarly, the TD Vijayawada Urban president, Mr Gadde Ramamohan Rao, also submitted his resignation.
