Chandra Babu in a fix over Telangana stand

The Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu today held a meeting with party leaders K Yerran Naidu and MLA N Janardhan Reddy and discussed the agenda for the Telugu Desam Legislature Party meeting which is slated to be held tomorrow.

For the first time Naidu had a problem in selecting a leader for the Parliamentary Party.

K Yerran Naidu continued as TDPP leader for the past two terms and as he lost the election, the party was forced to find out a suitable MP to fill the post.

The six MPs who were elected from the party are new to the Lok Sabha.

Party sources stated that Naidu might appoint MV Mysoora Reddy who is member of the Rajya Sabha as the leader of the Parliamentary party as against the tradition of appointing Lok Sabha member as the Parliamentary party leader and he would guide the floor leader in the Lok Sabha.
Naidu also discussed the arrangements being made for the Mahanadu to be held on May 27 and 28.

The Telangana issue also figured in the meeting as there were differences among the party cadre about the alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the last elections. Some leaders blamed the pro- Telangana stand for the party’s defeat, others argued that the party was able to get sizeable votes because of the pro-T stand.

Chandrababu Naidu was reportedly in a dilemma about the resolution on the T issue and was mulling on various options through which he could overcome the problem.

Since the party had earlier declared that it will not be a member of the Rosaiah Committee on T-issue, the Telugu Desam is now in a soup.

In 2004 general elections the party had stood for a united state and changed the tune later and took a positive stand.
