Can they or cannot they defect? That is the question being asked of PRP MLAs. So inevitable seems the scenario of its MLAs being poached that Allu Arvind the Brother-in-law of PRP founder Chiranjeevi was candid enough to acknowledge that threat was real and immediate. He even admitted to being a part of a debate on the topic at a political gathering on He was however confident that the PRP would get a clear majority on its own. Political observers though dismiss this possibility and say that the PRP is almost certain to align with the Congress. The only issue being the numbers – as in who gets how many. If the PRP were to get anywhere in the excess of 40 seats, rest assured, say the analysts that the party will pick its own C M candidate. Meanwhile EC Mr. I V Subba Rao clarified that (even PRP) MLAs will have to face the consequences of the anti-defection law if they jump ship in an unconstitutional manner.
