Website to offer SMS updates on Obama

Keeping in mind people's growing interest in the new US administration, a website in the Middle East is set to launch a text service that will provide the subscribers daily updates about President Barack Obama and his activities.

The facility -- going to be launched next week -- will initially be offered to subscribers in Jordan, Bahrain and Nigeria and later made available to the rest of the Middle East, a Gulf Daily News report said.

The facility offered by Info2cell.com will send up to two messages a day to their subscriber which will contain news headlines about the new President.

"There are a lot of stakeholders looking towards this new leadership and the positive changes that Obama is expected to bring about and our new service gives our subscribers an opportunity to stay abreast of these developments," Bashar Dahabra, founder and chief executive officer of the company, said.

It will also offers three Multi-Media Messaging Service (MMS) messages per week featuring photo releases covering various aspects of the Obama presidency including press conferences, state visits and new policy decisions.

The content for the new service will be sourced from leading international news agencies, the company said.

"The new service is part of the company's ongoing focus to take value-added mobile services to new levels while providing quality products to different target segments in the Middle East market," Bashar added.
