Had it not been true, it definitely would have been unbelievable. In one of his petitions filed to the CBI, Mr Ramalinga Raju has (actually) said “I enjoy superior social status and am accustomed to rich habits of life and superior mode of living.” The prosecutors of the CID have responded strongly by stating that Ramalinga Raju had become rich and lived a luxurious life by cheating the middle class investors who reposed utmost faith in him. The prosecutors reminded Raju of the adage that “however high you may be, the law is above you.” The prosecutors also dismissed Ramalinga Raju’s health concerns stating that they were “invented to create a flimsy ground for his release.” The CID sleuths are confident that as the investigation proceeds from the initial to the more intensive stages, more skeletons would fall from the cupboard.
