The nomination of candidates for the upcoming GHMC elections spiraled into a political controversy within Congress party. Some leaders within Congress have alleged that the Greater Congress Chairman, Daanam Nagendar has not shown any transparency in deciding who should contest. One MLA even accused him of accepting bribes to give away the tickets. All these allegations seem to have hit Daanam Nagendar hard. He has resigned from his post as the Chairman of Greater Congress, a body which is responsible for Party affairs in Hyderabad. He gave his resignation letter to PCC President, D.Srinivas and said that it is upto PCC to decide the next step.
