After a brief lull of no more than 3 months, Rajahmundy MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar resumed his scathing attack on press baron Ramoji Rao. This time the venue was the parliament itself. He wanted to know why the BJP’s leader Advani was patronizing a known tax evader by choosing to be his guest every time he visited A.P. Without naming Ramoji Rao, Vundavalli said the man in question had a newspaper and 13 regional TV channels. Vundavalli went on to add, this man had amassed thousands of crores of deposits on a HUF style firm and still the IT authorities had not acted swiftly and decisively. He even mentioned that the concerned IT authorities should be taken to legal task on the issue. The TDP leaders in the parliament raised severe objections to Vundavalli’s rhetoric and said that his attack was symptomatic of the manner in which the ruling party was harassing certain sections of the society.
