Four days away from the GHMC election, Chiranjeevi is trying everything within his means and more to form a strategic alliance with the left parties. But the CPI and CPM have by now sensed that the PRP is weakening by the proverbial minute and they are biding their time to wrangle more in a last-minute deal. The PRP, on its part, is very much inclined to form an alliance with the CPI and its think tank has reportedly approached people close to Narayana to set the ball rolling. But analysts here say that the style of functioning of Narayana and Chiranjeevi might not jell at all. Narayana is a quick thinker and a decisive man of action. Chiranjeevi on the other hand is a very hesitant decision maker who likes to keep all options open. And Narayana can be brutally honest in his opinions. Veteran politicians like Chandrababu and Dr YSR have been at the receiving end of the CPI leaders’ acidic tongue! It now remains to be seen if Chiranjeevi can stomach that level of honesty.
