The Praja Rajyam leader and former TD leader, Mr Malyala Rajaiah, rejoined the Telugu Desam on Friday.
TD sources said Mr Rajaiah informed Mr Naidu that there were a few more ex-TD leaders in PR who wanted to rejoin the party.
According to sources, PR leaders, Mr T. Seetharam and Mr T. Devender Goud, are also planning to return to TD despite their denials.
Praja Rajyam senior leaders alleged that TD was luring PR leaders as Mr Naidu wanted to play down the exodus of TD leaders from the party. As many as 12 ZPTCs in Adilabad district had left TD and to join the Congress, said PR leaders.
“Public will not give too much importance if some leaders leave the party. Leaders who have personal agendas may join other parties but it will not have any impact on PR which got 70 lakh votes in the general elections,” said the PR spokesperson, Mr J.Goutham.
Meanwhile, Mr Naidu asserted that Telugu Desam was only party in the state which can take on Congress and not “chillara parties”.
