The Telugu Desam MLA from Rapthadu, Mrs Paritala Sunitha, finally took oath in the Assembly on Friday before the new Speaker, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Though majority of the members took oath on the first day of the Session on Wednesday, Ms Sunitha refused to be sworn in by the protem speaker, Mr J.C. Diwakar Reddy, who was the arch rival of her slain husband, Mr Paritala Ravindra. The TDP MLA sprang a surprise when she walked out of the House even as the Assembly staff called her name in the alphabetical order. Mr Ravindra was killed in faction rivalry and his wife accused Mr Diwakar Reddy of plotting against her husband.
