The seasoned politician that he is Chandrababu Naidu has called Krishna Madiga’s bluff, by not letting him get on board the Mahakutami alliance. Chandrababu was dismissive of Krishna Madiga and the MRPS saying that “he (Krishna Madiga) is not in the Mahakutami. He met us only for seats.” In a way Babu’s move has checked KCR’s ambitions of drafting Krishna Madiga into the alliance with a view of garnering the Madiga vote in Telengana. However Naidu outfoxed him by saying that he has no objections of letting MRPS in provided the parties that wanted it were in a mood to sacrifice seats for their cause. Stumped by Mr Naidu’s game plan, the alliance partners, who tried to push the MRPS issue on Telugu Desam, backed off. The future course of action for the MRPS remains to be seen. Though there are indications that Krishna Madiga will try his luck with the PRP, people close to both the PRP and the MRPS are of the opinion that no such alliance is feasible owing to the attacks made by Krishna Madiga on the PRP.
