Minister for Panchayat Raj Botsa Satyanarayana today (Aug 11, 2009) ordered officials in Vijayanagaram district not to show Magadheera in theatres. He said he is also planning to put ban on statewide.
The reason he cited for the ban on Magadheera in the district is that theatres in the districts are not equipped with proper safety measures and patrons are getting killed in a mad rush to get tickets. Two days back, 5 people were killed at a booking counter in Lakshmi – Srilakshmi theatre in Salur town in the district.
Hence, government appointed a review committee on the theatres to probe into the safety measures. Although, he has no rights to issue these kind of orders being a Panchayat Raj minister, he did it as he hails from the same district.
