Kiran Kumar Reddy to take over as Speaker

The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, took a surprise decision on Monday by selecting Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, a four time legislator from Chittoor district, as the new Speaker of Assembly. Former Speaker Suresh Reddy lost the election and hence the need arose to elect a new Speaker.

Mr Nadendla Manohar, a second-time MLA from Tenali of Guntur district as Deputy Speaker.
