Looking cheerful and not downcast following his nine-month-old Praja Rajyam Party's dismal show in the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi has said victory or defeat did not matter to him.
"What matters is whether or not we have played the game and not whether we won or lost," Chiranjeevi said after it became clear that his party was comprehensively trounced in the polls.
He, however, owned full responsibility for the defeat of the party.
Chiranjeevi said PRP would always be the "king" with or without power.
He said people had given a clear verdict in favour of Congress as they strongly approved the leadership of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
"They have voted for stability and gave the mandate to Congress," he added.
Maintaining that people would never err, the PRP chief said their decision has to be respected by all means.
Recalling his days in the film industry, Chiranjeevi said he never got depressed by defeat. "I take defeat as a teacher and try to learn from it so that I can correct myself and bounce back. I will follow the same even in politics," he added.
