Chandrababu can't seem to hide a smile these days. When the figures of Jagan's taxes were revealed, the TDP leader had a smug I told you so look on his face. From a paltry 2.92 lacs last year to Rs. 22 crore this year Jagan's income rise has many of his detractors baffled. He has already paid Rs 6.6 crore advance tax in the first six months ofthis year, projecting a tax outgo of at least Rs 22 crore with his personal income expected to be more than Rs 70 crore in 2009-10. To make matters worse he is incidentally, the only recognised politician who has made the cut in the top 100 taxpayers. The list had the usual suspects from the fields of cricket and bollywood - Tendulkar, Dhoni, SRK etc. But the MP from Kadapa has outshone them all. He surely can expect many tough questions on his income front in the months to come.
